Hey guys,
A friend recently asked me if I could help him out with his weights regime. His primary goal is fat loss. He assures me that his diet is in check. I recommended that I start him on a conditioning/weights programme, but he says he is happy with his current cardio programme which consists of 2 LSD (approx 5 miles each)
Therefore he is strictly interested in weights only. I was thinking of putting him on the following:
A:
Squat
Row
Bench
B:
Deadlift
Press
Pull-Ups (Assisted)
+ Probably looking to alternate the rep ranges each week.
Thing is, he is a big guy, probably about 18 stones. I am going to be starting with an empty bar to teach him the lifts as he has zero experience .
Am I overcomplicating things? Should I bother with rep-ranges at this stage? Shut up and lift?
